Joyful learning is a priority, and it flourishes at Swanson Traditional School. Our positive climate promotes enthusiastic attitudes about school which makes learning infinitely more successful at Swanson. Our school and each classroom are welcoming and inviting, and Scottie Scholars feel happy and comfortable here. We intentionally build relationships with team-building activities during morning meetings and throughout the day, creating a feeling of community, trust, and acceptance. This feeling of community improves engagement, motivation and increases student learning outcomes. We have very high expectations and provide core instruction at master levels of effectiveness which has a significant impact on student achievement. We know that educating our Scottie Scholars is important work, but that doesn't mean it always feels like serious business. Every day we smile, sing, dance, and celebrate successes.
Our thriving school embraces the "it takes a community" attitude and relies extensively on family and community members to help with education. Numerous family and community engagement opportunities are provided throughout the year that encourages student achievement. As a result, Swanson families become a part of our school and send the vital message that school and learning are important. We value our community, and their support is an essential part of our school's success.
All of this and much more make Swanson Traditional School an award-winning place to learn, grow, and achieve!
