Grassy Creek Elementary is an urban school for young scholars in Indianapolis, Indiana. As part of the larger Metropolitan School District of Warren Township, Grassy Creek provides students the opportunity to integrate rigorous academic learning with a whole child focus, driven by the pursuit of excellence. We are the "Pride of the Eastside," working to raise up future generations through today's efforts. Through innovative learning adapted to meet each student at his or her learning need, students master grade level content. Teachers are highly trained to use both traditional and online instructional tools to enhance student learning outcomes. Students at Grassy Creek are challenged academically while supported individually.
Over recent years, Grassy Creek Elementary has shifted focus from solely academic achievement as a gauge of success to include student belonging. Our greatest desire is for our students to feel seen, celebrated, and valued. Having a strong sense of belonging builds an internal desire to perform at higher academic levels as part of the school family.
At Grassy Creek Elementary School, families are valued, also. Recognizing and respecting the diversity of family structure, we believe that all parents and families have an indispensable role in the education of their children. We are committed to forging partnerships with parents and families to improve student outcomes, strengthen school learning environments, and promote positive community relations.
Grassy Creek is a neighborhood school rooted in honoring individuals and inspiring future leaders. Each day students and staff show up, "ready to work and ready to learn!"
