Oak Brook is a village that believes in the importance of family values and the community's responsibility to provide all of its children with opportunities to grow as active, caring, and empathetic citizens. The Butler Junior High School learning environment is designed to allow all students to understand their own learning needs. In every classroom, students challenge themselves to tackle each new academic objective with a critical mind. The hard work of our students is on display in every hallway in the building.
Teachers implement a differentiated instructional model across all classes in conjunction with social emotional learning objectives. As such, content is not delivered to simply receive instruction, rather students and teachers actively engage with each other to develop a deeper understanding of the concepts of each class. While it is not out of the ordinary for parents in any community to want their kids to share the experiences of their youth, the proud tradition of a Butler education has consistently brought graduates back to live in the community. This allows their children to share in the school's rich history of academic excellence and its warm, family-centered environment. Furthermore, Butler Junior High is a school that fosters relationships by enhancing learning through real world experiences. Some of the traditions Butler continues to implement with the community include International Day, Career Day, and leveraging technology to interact with leading industry experts.
