Braeside Elementary School in Highland Park, Illinois is the proud home to 269 Bobcats in grades K-5. Built in 1929 and listed in the National Register of Historic Places in 1982, Braeside is more than just a school to the local community. It has served as a community gathering place for the past 92 years.
It is these deep connections and foundations that have helped us to prioritize a strong partnership between home, school, and community. We welcome and value parent involvement and know students will continue to flourish in an atmosphere of mutual respect and collaboration. Together, we ensure that each student experiences a safe, secure, and nurturing environment. A point of pride for us at Braeside School is the fact that many of the families have been here for generations!
Our staff members have a calling to focus on the development of the whole child. We engage our students in learning intellectually, emotionally and socially each day. Teachers are responsive to student needs and embrace that each student progresses at their own rate. As students engage in learning, the teachers are prepared to provide opportunities for reteaching and extension based on student need. The students are encouraged to take an active role in the learning process, to think critically, and to ask questions that deepen their understanding of new material.
Braeside is proud to see each child develop into socially responsible citizens of their school, their community, and our world.
