From the Waianae and Koolau Mountains, Wheeler Middle School (WMS) stands proudly on the plains of Leilehua in Wahiawa, Oahu. As a public school in Hawai'i located on a military airfield base, the majority of our students and their families at WMS come from diverse backgrounds and experiences, and hail from around the globe. From the moment our students enter our hallways, our goal is to ensure our students feel valued, accepted, and safe on our campus. It is upon this foundation that our students engage in learning that fosters academic excellence as well as a sense of responsibility and respect of global citizens. We see this nurturing and academically rigorous environment as essential to our work of fostering our next generation leaders. The place of Wahiawa is long regarded as the home of the ali'i. Wheeler Middle School is home of the Spartans.
WMS strives to be a place where all members of our ohana-students, teachers, community-can achieve and thrive. Common curricula, data teams, and the open sharing of best practices amongst our teachers ensure that students all receive equitable and excellent education in all classrooms. WMS consistently demonstrates higher-than-average proficiency scores in all subjects.
Our students are the source of our aloha and inspiration. At WMS, we believe we have the responsibility and power to make a difference in the lives of all students and that we can successfully support learners of all abilities, experiences, and backgrounds. With this shared conviction, we strive each day to ensure the success of every student.
