Pennekamp Elementary School is a public school in Manhattan Beach, California that serves a population of 450 students. We are an amazing community that works together to support our students and our school. Our dedicated teachers and support staff strive to help each child meet their highest academic, social, and emotional potential in order to prepare them for this increasingly challenging world. Our parent community is dedicated to the success of our school as well. Together, we create the best educational environment by focusing on the whole child.
All curriculum is structured around California State Standards. As a high performing school, our goal is to provide personalized learning to support student growth in reading, writing, and math through Reader's and Writer's Workshop and Cognitively Guided Instruction in math. Our teachers provide students with data driven planning and instruction to meet each child at their level and to grow their literacy and math skills.
The principal, staff, and parent community are committed to creating a safe and engaging learning environment by teaching our students positive behavior expectations through "Every Dragon ROARS." When a Dragon ROARS, they are: RESPECTFUL - ON TASK - ACCOUNTABLE - RESPONSIBLE - SAFE. Ask any student, teacher, or parent about how a Dragon ROARS and they all know! Our Pennekamp school campus is an inclusive and inspiring place to be. Go Dragons!
