NBRS Badge for Red Hawk Elementary School

Red Hawk Elementary School - Temecula, CA

Library time means more than books: makerspace, coding and technology!

Library time means more than books: makerspace, coding and technology!

When you enter the driveway of Red Hawk Elementary School, you immediately feel that you are part of a family! The student valet team is out greeting every car with a friendly "Good Morning" , helping students exit, and then sending parents off with, "Have a nice Day!" There is a genuine sense of caring and teamwork that permeates the campus. The strong bonds between students, staff, families, and the community are what help us to successfully face any challenges, like the ones that the pandemic brought.

The library is the "hub" of the campus with students engaged in coding, makerspace, video production, and more. While there are high expectations for academic achievement, there is an equally strong focus on social emotional well-being, growth mindset, and behavior. PBIS strategies are utilized throughout the school. Character traits are taught in each classroom and students are recognized at the weekly flag salute assemblies. The brightly colored college pennants that line the walls and the universal use of AVID strategies exemplify an emphasis on lifelong learning, personal responsibility and academic success. Technology is an integral part of learning, with a Smartboard in each classroom and an iPad for each student. Students can become Apple Seedling certified by attending iPad camps. Students learn to be leaders through programs such as reading buddies, student council, the high school peer leaders, and the student valet team. Red Hawk Heroes are equipped for lifelong success!
