Los Alamitos Elementary (LAE) is a Title 1 school focused on closing the achievement gap. Our school motto is Together Everyone Achieves More, aka T.E.A.M. It is a tradition at LAE that our committed staff is determined to reach every child. The entire staff, from the custodian to the front office personal, to the instructional aides and teachers, are devoted to help our TIGERS achieve socially, emotionally, and academically. LAE is ranked in the top 15% of the most diverse schools in California and ranked in the Top 5 Title 1 schools in Orange County for academics. LAE has increased its proficiency on the CAASPP by 72 points in the last four years. This was accomplished by focusing on small group interventions and instruction that allows for a double dose of skills.
The true power of LAE is how we have implemented social and emotional learning at school and created a strong alliance with our community. Mental health and social-emotional functioning are a priority at LAE. LAE is working with the Orange County Department of Education and is in its second year of implementing Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports (PBIS). Students have access to social, emotional, and behavioral supports through consultation with families and teachers, and direct services such as individual and group counseling and social groups. LAE's staff, parents, and community work harmoniously to nurture the growth of our students.
We are LAE, we are an amazing community, we do whatever it takes for our TIGERS to succeed socially, emotionally, and academically.
LAE IS THE PLACE TO BE!
