Mesquite Elementary is proud to be a lighthouse school within the Vail School District. In 2014, Mesquite was the first school in our district to receive the National Blue Ribbon Schools Award in Academic Excellence. We remain true to our mission that strives for excellence and have created a culture of high expectations for academic achievement. Mesquite has had a strong history of success due to the partnership between parents, students, staff and the community. Together, we rise to conquer challenges and successfully prepare our students for the constantly evolving profile of the 21st-century learner.
Mesquite features a variety of rigorous and unique programming which includes our Chinese Immersion Program, Daily Math Reteach and Enrichment, and Bell to Bell Learning culture. Staff members constantly work to ensure we maintain a rigorous environment that focuses on clear goals, essential skills, high expectations and authentic learning experiences based on the changing needs of each student.
The positive and lasting impact we impart on students, the trusting relationships we foster with families, and the involvement we maintain with the community are a vital part of our success. We continue to inspire our community, students, and staff to become better each day. Our greatest strength as a school is a 'family' culture that fosters mutual respect, collaboration, and enduring relationships. Mesquite continues to sustain the lighthouse image within the Vail community and we proudly raise our National Blue Ribbon flags.
