Carolyn Lewis Elementary is the newest and ninth elementary school in the Conway Public School District. Over the past ten years, our Kindergarten through fourth grade enrollment has continually increased to an average of 545 students. We serve a diverse population with an increasing number of students with an ELL background.
One of the most notable accomplishments that has led to the success of our school has been our positive culture and climate. Teachers and staff establish and embrace meaningful relationships with students, their families, and each other. These relationships build trust, promote parental involvement, and create an atmosphere conducive to high levels of learning. Our faculty and staff believe we are the foundation to each student's success both academically and socially. Teachers work diligently to meet students at their current level of performance and develop a streamlined approach to provide necessary support and interventions for struggling students. Our teachers and administrators have become data detectives constantly utilizing that data to monitor and adjust instructional strategies to maximize student success.
Like many other schools this past year during the COVID pandemic, we have faced struggles to keep students engaged and to provide meaningful instruction across varied platforms. The work that our teachers accomplished during the pandemic was nothing short of astounding. Our teachers utilized various technological resources that allowed our students to engage and their parents to communicate with faculty and staff. We truly embrace the motto: Every Child, Every Day, Whatever it takes!
