Kindergarten students share their own Ishi rocks to practice mindfulness!

Park Magnet, an IB World School, located in historic Hot Springs, Arkansas, is a hidden gem of educational quality and diversity! We are the only International Baccalaureate Primary Years Programme in the state of Arkansas, offering families a unique educational experience that tailors teaching to the individual needs of our kids. Park Magnet was part of the National Blue Ribbon Schools 2009 and 2015 cohorts, making this the third time we have received this honor.

The Primary Years Programme is an educational framework committed to engaging students in a rigorous and challenging curriculum that develops caring, knowledgeable, balanced, lifelong learners who are empowered to create a more peaceful world through an understanding and respect of cultural diversity and inclusion. Most specifically, we focus our instructional program on student engagement through inquiry and reflection.

As an IB school, inquiry-based and trans-disciplinary learning are our chief forms of instruction. We offer regular Spanish instruction for all students in Kindergarten through 6th grade as our secondary language. We partner with multiple community organizations to provide students with a plethora of service opportunities and learning engagements outside of the school walls. At Park Magnet, we strive to be a school in which all students know they are loved, each and every day, while learning at high levels!
