At Orange Beach Elementary, students are the "wave of the future." Located in the heart of a beach town, visitors come from all over to visit the white, sandy beaches but only 6,500 people consider Orange Beach their home. Families move here because of the educational program, values, and community. This is an amazing school as reflected by test scores, an "A" on the state report card, and recognized as Alabama's Safest School multiple times. While the accolades are impressive, the people are truly what make this school extraordinary. Students have unique learning opportunities to discover the world around them thanks to the partnership between the Baldwin County Board of Education and the City of Orange Beach. While academics have always been the focus, students make friends, experience the arts, learn to give back, discover, move, and play each day.
Students learn about natural resources, marine life, and astronomy at Sea, Sand, and Stars. This unique learning lab features a 5,800-gallon aquarium, a planetarium, outdoor classrooms, and a touch tank. Expect Excellence is not simply an after-school program, but an enhanced program for academics, arts, and athletics for our students. Leader in Me principles and practices are taught to inspire leadership in every student. Vertical Tower Hydroponic Gardens provide a farm-to-table project for students to plant and care for herbs and vegetables, that later become ingredients in our lunchroom meals. Orange Beach Elementary is more than a place to get an education; it's a place of extraordinary opportunities.
