Beach Bling Fashion While Learning About Geology and Invertebrates

Soldotna Montessori Charter School is an exceptional school which delivers instruction using the Montessori approach, and it is deeply committed to the school's family atmosphere where each member is honored and accepted for who they are and where each can exhibit his or her talent or skill as a contribution to the school and community. Students are empowered learners and have ownership of their learning choices through use of their work plan which is developed weekly.

Our students are arranged in multi-aged classes, allowing younger students to learn from older students, enhancing older students' roles as they develop and provide leadership and reinforce their own learning by teaching others. Multi-aged classes create an interdependence among students within the class, and students value both giving and receiving help over their career. They develop a strong caring for each other.

Students at Soldotna Montessori Charter School apply their learning beyond the walls of the school and engage in many field experiences that broaden the scope of their work from routine classroom tasks to application outside of school. Connecting students' learning efforts in class to their work outside of class through field experiences enhances our students understanding of the positive effects of working, studying, and preparing.

Our students spend a great deal of time seeing to the needs of others: in the classroom, on the playground, and in the community. Students participate in community outreach projects that allow the students to help and assist others, reinforcing our motto: Soldotna Montessori, Where Kindness is Cool.
