Kenna Elementary School is a public elementary school nestled in the hills in Charleston, West Virginia. The small but mighty Kenna community places emphasis on creating a nurturing atmosphere for students to feel safe, encouraged, and confident to achieve personally, academically, and socially.

The Kenna tradition of fostering community engagement and parental support helps students meet the highest of standards, year after year. Each student is part of a close community, comprised of administrators, teachers, staff, parents, and students. A familial atmosphere encourages students to develop relationships and fosters self-respect and the respect for others.

The Kenna staff has high expectations for the academic achievement and the exemplary behavior of its students. The faculty employs differentiated methods to encourage a culture of intellectual curiosity and creativity among students, while instilling self-discipline and promoting academic rigor. Students are encouraged to develop critical and logical thinking skills and to communicate their thoughts and ideas appropriately and effectively to others.
