Hilton Elementary school is located in the heart of the Appalachian Mountains in Scott County, Virginia. The faculty and staff work to prepare each individual student to be a productive, informed citizen that is a responsible decision maker, and a lifelong learner.
The success for Hilton Elementary is due to the hard work and dedication of the faculty, staff, and parents. One of our core beliefs is listening to students' and parents' concerns and then working as a team to provide the best education possible for our students. The school values community partnerships and works to build strong relationships among all stakeholders.
The faculty at Hilton Elementary continuously are seeking new ways to increase student engagement, and promote academic rigor within the classrooms through direct instruction, differentiated learning experiences, use of classroom technology, and implementation of intervention strategies in effort to reach students of all learning styles. Remedial and extension opportunities occur before, during, and after school hours to best meet the needs of all students. Teachers regularly review multiple forms of student assessment data to drive instructional practices and fine tune small group remediation instruction.
Hilton Elementary's greatest asset is the outstanding faculty and staff. They work to cultivate a school culture in which everyone shares ownership for the students and promotes success. By working together, the faculty ensures every student feels important and valued, which encourages students to be self-motivated and develops within them a desire to work hard toward personal goals.
