Langham Elementary is a Title I campus in the city of Nederland, nestled in the heart of Southeast Texas. Langham is representative of the blue-collar, family-oriented values held by the surrounding community. At Langham, we believe that all members of the school family are instrumental in helping each child fulfill their maximum potential. Teachers coordinate not only within their grade level teams to help our students, but with all members of the campus family. Teachers stay after school to help tutor students from their own class, as well as from other grade levels. Math facts and spelling words are incorporated into the physical education curriculum and exercises. Community members volunteer to come to campus to participate in the reading program.
Langham values the relationships between the staff and students and recognize that nurturing students' physiological needs is a prerequisite to students realizing their academic potential. High expectations are set for students, and students work hard to meet the challenges set before them because they know their campus cares about them. Student successes are celebrated, and success looks different for every student. Students are encouraged to take on challenges and to always strive to do their best. The mantra of the campus has long been, "Good, better, best. Never let it rest, until your good is better and your better is best." Embodying this attitude and approach, there is no limit to the amazing things that Langham students can achieve.
