One of the biggest compliments a school can receive is when an individual walks into the school they get a certain "feel." For Foothills Elementary, this feeling has been described as warm, exciting, genuine, and accepting. This compliment has been bestowed on our school on countless occasions. This is directly correlated to our strong and consistent school climate and culture. Faculty and staff are genuine in their personal engagement with each other and all stakeholders. They create an atmosphere of happiness, and a school setting that wraps everyone in a blanket of safety and security. Foothills is a place that our faculty, staff, students, and our families call home, as we accept all and make it our daily mission to instill a joy of learning, respect, and cooperation in all that we do.

Academic excellence is accomplished through best practices, prescriptive teaching, individual data analysis, and teacher and student ownership of learning. This success is attributed to the use of formative and summative assessment tools coupled with a teacher mindset that sees assessment as a means to effectively drive instruction. As a school system, we are blessed to be a 1:1 district with a multitude of resources that allow us to meet the needs of all our students. If asked to name what Foothills Elementary School does well, as a faculty we would reply that we insist that everyone embody our school motto, which is to give their, "Personal Best!
