Rollings Middle School of the Arts is a public school for the artistically gifted student. The student body of over 700 sixth through eighth graders fills our state-of-the-art facility with song, dance, music, and monologues. Rollings provides a unique opportunity for students who have been identified as gifted in one of seven areas (band, vocal, dance, visual arts, strings, theatre, and piano) to enhance and develop their artistic skills, while progressing academically.

Focusing on the growth of artistic talent is integrated into the development of world class skills for college and career readiness. Instruction at Rollings is enhanced by the integration of technology into all learning, offering a rigorous and relevant curriculum, both academically and artistically. The curriculum incorporates best practices and innovative technology to provide the richest possible educational environment for students. This includes inquiry-based learning, personalized learning, blended learning, and explicit direct instruction.

There is no academic requirement for admission to Rollings, affording any student interested in pursuing our special learning environment the eligibility to apply, creating a student body that is diverse and representative of our local demographic. With this in mind, Rollings provides opportunities for learners with varying ability levels, such as enhancing academic skills in honors and high school credit classes or remediating skills with intervention programs.
