Charlestown Elementary School is a small elementary school located in coastal Charlestown, Rhode Island and is part of the Chariho Regional School District. The school enrolls approximately 250 students from kindergarten to Grade 4. Charlestown Elementary School has earned the distinction of being recognized as a 5 Star School from the Rhode Island Department of Education. We're committed to maintaining this recognition through our consistent and persistent focus on student support and achievement.

Our school is a safe and happy learning environment for all. Substitutes, new families, and visitors often compliment our culture. Families care deeply about our school; PTO meetings are well attended and events planned are ideal family experiences.

Our staff members work collaboratively to support all students. We build positive relationships and consider the best needs of each child. Strong Response to Intervention and Special Education programs help to identify and support students with academic and emotional needs. We also recognize and further challenge students who need enrichment opportunities through our Highly Capable Program.

Charlestown School has a specialty focus on outdoor learning. Our Parent Teacher Organization has planned and created beautiful outdoor learning spaces behind our school. Teachers enrich current lessons by taking students outside for instruction. We have a building-wide focus on student perseverance. Students are nominated and recognized during Student of the Trimester events.
