Spencerville Elementary School is a small rural school located in Northwest Ohio. Its proud tradition of excellence began in 1846 and is still going strong today. The staff believes that developing the whole child in a positive atmosphere is the key to our academic success. It ensures that each child is healthy, safe, supported, engaged, and challenged. We implement Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports that teaches students to self-regulate their behaviors in a positive way. We partner with a variety of community resources that teach students to be kind, compassionate, and respectful towards one another. We believe education isn't just about academics, it's also about developing a well-rounded individual.

Our staff collaborates and works together to support one another and their students. They recognize each child's individual strengths and weaknesses, and they use this knowledge to grow and learn from each other. The staff participates in various professional development opportunities that help them cultivate an understanding of how students learn. Our staff enhances their students' education by utilizing hands-on experiences through in-house and community field trips, character education, and mental health partnerships. They create an environment where students work together to solve problems and think critically. Our staff values their job as an educator to not only teach skills and subjects, but to engage the students in active learning. Education for the whole child is our core value, promoting long-term development and success for all children.
