Together we make a beautiful rainbow!

Together we make a beautiful rainbow!

Every morning, during morning announcements, we wish our Steen School Family a phenomenal day. This sense of community and togetherness make Lillian M. Steen School a unique and fantastic place for students to learn and grow. The teachers and administrators have built strong and lasting relationships with the families that we have the privilege to serve. It is through these bonds that we are best able to educate our students.

The instructional practice that we have found most useful is using data that we gather on each student through summative and formative assessments to provide individualized instruction to all students. We can know where each student struggles and excels in targeting our instructional practices that would most help each student. This information informs how our teachers conduct both small group and whole instruction to make it the most effective for all students.

The data collected on each student is shared with all necessary staff members to ensure that there is continuity of instruction throughout the student's day. For example, Title I teachers will share assessment data with the classroom teacher to guarantee that all personnel who work with them know the best ways to educate each student. We are continually examining our teaching practices to ensure they are the finest that we can offer. Through this constant pursuit of excellence, we continue to make the necessary and vital educational strides.
