A Day in the Life of a Gould/Mountain Student

A Day in the Life of a Gould/Mountain Student

Gould/Mountain School is located in North Caldwell, a small suburban town which encompasses 2.9 square miles. The Gould/Mountain School enrolls students in grades four through six and has a total population of 294 students. A strong bond among the administrators, faculty, support staff, and parents has provided the foundation to make Gould/Mountain School a model of educational excellence, as well as to establish and maintain a positive school climate that supports the academic, social and emotional growth of all of our students.

Within Gould/Mountain School creativity and imagination is nurtured and students are provided with the knowledge, skills, and values needed to think critically, respect themselves and others, and become life-long learners. All faculty and staff believe that the collaborative engagement of students in the learning process is the key to intellectual development. Cooperative learning activities and child-centered problem-solving routines are incorporated into the school day. Students are encouraged to explore, question, make decisions and express opinions in a supportive learning environment. Each day, following the morning announcements, Gould/Mountain students are encouraged to strive to "Have the Best Day Ever."
