At Clark Mills School we view learning as a staircase. We recognize that each student is in a different place with their learning and understanding. We see each student on a step of the staircase, and our goal is to move each student up to the next level. We are an extremely student-centered school that is committed to rigor, relevance, and relationships to make learning the very best it can be for all of our students. Book studies, pineappling, PLCs, and professional development are all utilized to keep us on the cutting edge of education. Our staff has become extremely proficient in analyzing data to determine the strengths and areas of focus for each child. Response to Intervention and weekly problem solving team meetings are used hand in hand, with various data, to monitor student learning very closely and add levels of remediation when necessary.
At Clark Mills School, we pride ourselves on building positive relationships with students, staff, parents, and community members. Each morning students are reminded during CMTV to "Step up to learning and kindness at Clark Mills." To maximize student learning, we focus greatly on the culture and climate of our school. We celebrate student and staff successes by "catching them being awesome!" When students love their school, they are more likely to take risks, rise to challenges, and reach their full potential. Preparing our students for the future by focusing on each child's academic, social, and emotional needs is what we do best at Clark Mills.
