Sunny Pointe Elementary (SPE) is a full Title I school located in the Blue Springs R-IV School District in Blue Springs, Missouri. SPE currently serves a diverse, population of 570 K-5 students. SPE provides a comprehensive education to the diverse student population through its talented staff. Staff are driven to meet the academic and social/emotional needs of every student.

The SPE staff and community uphold the highest expectations for all students by creating an environment which leads to success through Positive Behavior Supports (PBS) and data driven collaboration. Through the PBS action plan, staff develop more positive relationships with students and parents. This plan includes supporting best practices to meet student needs academically and socially-emotionally. The result has been increased trust and respect, leading to the current positive school culture.

Teachers collaborate on student data to drive differentiation strategies within the classroom. Vertical team planning is used to accelerate the learning process across grade levels and provide the strategies to implement best instructional practices and work together in achieving instructional goals. Close work with district instructional coaches and national educational experts has led to increased student performance.

There is a single theme at SPE: everyone belongs. Through a comprehensive plan to meet the academic and social-emotional needs, students benefit from instruction that is intentional, relevant, and meaningful. With the commitment to creating a culture where everyone belongs, all students are given the opportunities and experiences that are essential to educational success in elementary school and beyond.
