Active student engagement, a hallmark of Festus Elementary School

Active student engagement, a hallmark of Festus Elementary School

Festus Elementary School (FES) is a Kindergarten through third grade elementary school in Festus, MO. FES students come to school daily to interact with each other in a very large school, nearly one thousand students, in a small class environment. This unique system of a large school with many classrooms allows for kids to have the benefits of a diverse learning environment but with the benefit of the small school experience.

FES students become great readers, strong in math skills, confident in STEM concepts, grounded in social studies ideas, and fully explore art, music, PE and Library. Additionally, FES prides itself on developing students who are caring and kind and who understand how to work with others in a positive manner.

FES staff pride themselves on the relationships they create and build with students. These relationships serve as a foundation for all of the positive academic and social emotional successes we have with students. These allow us to have success with students from every background. We routinely have students come to us from negative backgrounds and histories with other schools. We are able to take them and turn them into positive, successful students.

Our academic and social emotional programming is built on a foundation of a Strong Professional Learning Community. Our award winning program is at the heart of everything we do. This mindset is what allows for all of the successes we have had, all the way from our national awards to our successes with each individual student.
