Typical day at Marie Gatton Phillips Elementary

The staff of Marie Gatton-Phillips Sacramento Elementary School is aware that children in grades Kindergarten through five have arrived at a crucial point in their growth process. The staff believes that each student must be dealt with as a separate, complete person. We are responsible for their physical, emotional, social, and academic development and must strive to meet the needs of all students. The Faculty endeavors to create an environment in which each child feels a definite part, and one that offers each the opportunity to succeed in these four areas.

Instruction at MGP is always
STRATEGIC...Everything we do in the classroom moves us toward our vision.
INTENTIONAL ...Everything we do in the classroom has a purpose to increase both academic achievement and growth.
URGENT...Everything we do in the classroom must be done with a sense of urgency in that we only have a very short time to move our students to the highest levels of achievement and growth they can reach. Just as winning sports organizations who play each game expecting to win, the staff of MGP expects their students to reach their highest potential in all areas.
