Rue Elementary educates more than 380 students in Council Bluffs, Iowa, and has been providing high quality learning experiences since 1950. The faculty and staff at Rue Elementary often refer to our school as the hidden gem of the city due to being tucked away in a neighborhood in the southwest corner of Council Bluffs. Many staff members remain at Rue for their entire educational careers, and serve multiple generations of our families.
Family engagement is an important focus within our physical and virtual school walls at Rue. We offer parent workshops, during which parents/guardians visit the classroom to experience real time learning and instruction. These workshops allow families to understand our math and literacy curriculums to help their children further apply this learning within the home setting. The Rue staff goes above and beyond to engage students in a safe and rigorous learning environment.
The success at Rue Elementary can mainly be attributed to our relentless pursuit of Academic Excellence for all! The staff members rally around the aspiration of excellence, and demonstrate this pursuit through challenging learning experiences that push all learners to new levels. Academic Excellence goes beyond ensuring that all students meet grade level standards by focusing on maximizing academic growth and progress for each learner. The dedicated staff, along with partnerships with families, will ensure continued success at Rue Elementary for many years to come!
