Bak Middle School of the Arts is a unique and diverse arts community designed to foster growth and creativity in order to reach each child's potential in the arts and academics. Our vision is creating a unique and diverse arts community designed to foster growth and creativity in order to reach each child's potential. Rated as one of the top academic achieving middle schools in the State of Florida, Bak provides students with incomparable academic opportunities and rigorous coursework. Whether utilizing one-to one technology, completing advanced classes and high school honors courses, or participating in academic competitions throughout the state, Bak students are well-prepared for the rigors of high school and beyond. Recognized as one of the top public arts schools in the state and nation, Bak provides students with an unparalleled arts education filled with dynamic instruction and experiences in band, communications, dance, piano, strings, theatre, visual arts, and vocal. Students compete and perform around the country at prestigious venues such as Carnegie Hall and the Kennedy Center. With the financial support of the MSOA Foundation, students receive private and small group lessons from experts in the field, participate in exclusive master classes and workshops, and have access to state of the art technology and materials. Parent support and participation is another key to the school's success. The Bak PTO supports all facets of the Bak community: financing academic programs for students and professional development and grants for teachers, organizing volunteers, and hosting social events for students, parents, and school personnel. The harmony of the arts and academics, along with the support of the Bak Family, creates an educational masterpiece!
