Northeast is a great place to be! Northeast Elementary School has been recognized as a School of Distinction and a Category 1 School by the State of Connecticut. This is the result of staff, students and by parents supporting their child's education. The Northeast Community continues to pursue its three overarching goals: 1) establishing a safe, orderly, and purposeful learning environment; 2) setting high academic expectations, continuously monitoring progress and adjusting instruction to achieve personalized learning goals for each student; and 3) promoting effective communication between the school and families to engage parents and guardians in the learning process, both in the classroom and at home.
The essence of Northeast is learning, and learning doesn't happen without great Classroom Teachers, Para Educators, Special Educators, Unified Arts Teachers, Tutors, and Support Staff. We have a strong school community.
At Northeast, we want to convey to our students that their education is essential. We want them to believe that everyone can learn and grow, and everyone can excel in his or her own unique way. Expectations for our children are high, while we build their self-confidence without anxiety with a simple but powerful student mantra of "Work Hard and Be Nice." This mantra has helped create an environment where students work hard toward their academic goals while learning how to be a positive contributor to our school community. Our staff, students and families have built a school culture that seeks to bring out the best in each of our students and adults.
