D'Evelyn is a liberal arts, public option high school in Jefferson County, Colorado. We believe that all students should be held to high academic and behavioral expectations, and that the purpose of education is for students to learn an essential body of cultural knowledge. The purpose of our school is to prepare our students for a happy, full, and successful life where students are effective participants in their communities, regardless of the post-secondary path that they choose.
Our school is strengthened by our hard-working students, knowledgeable and dedicated faculty and staff, and committed, supportive parents. Our students encounter and learn about great ideas, novels, events, and theories of our world. They develop analytical thinking and problem solving skills through the combination of content-rich study and engagement with traditional mathematics and the three pillars of science. All students develop proficiency in foreign language and study the fine arts.
The vertical and horizontal alignment in our program allow for students to be prepared for incrementally more challenging material during each school year. In the upper levels of high school, our students can choose from approximately 20 Advanced Placement courses.
