Weathersfield Elementary is a welcoming and vibrant school located in Thousand Oaks, California. Our approach to learning focuses on the development of the whole child through academic, behavioral, and social-emotional supports. Through our strong school to home partnership, Weathersfield works together with families to create a culture of communication and teamwork. Teachers/staff, students, and families work as a collaborative community to help our Eagles grow and succeed.
Through an intentional focus on student learning styles, differentiation of instruction, and Universal Design for Learning, Weathersfield teachers have been successful in delivering targeted, data-driven instruction to ensure that learners at all levels are successful. Our highly effective Intervention for All program has been instrumental in targeting the instructional needs of our most struggling to our highest achieving students. This has led to significant gains in student achievement across student groups.
To support student engagement and achievement, Weathersfield has implemented systems and structures to create a positive learning environment. Our CHAMPS approach provides students with clear expectations and common language for in class and on campus behavior. With a strong structured environment and a positive student recognition system, Weathersfield has been able to create a thriving student-centered culture.
Our active PTA has teamed with the school to provide support, engagement, communication, and outreach for all stakeholders. An increase in parent participation is another factor in the annual gains we have seen in student achievement. Through our collective commitment to excellence, Weathersfield has created a happy and trusting learning environment for all. Go Eagles!
