McMillan Elementary School is an esteemed school with a vibrant student body and staff in the Murray City School District in Murray, Utah. Centrally located in the Salt Lake Valley, McMillan Elementary was built in 1952 and named after a local family who originally owned the land it was built upon. Murray City is unique with it's small town feel and residents who come together to make their community great.

McMillan's school population includes students in kindergarten through sixth grade. Included in our school is the district's magnet gifted/talented program. While most of our students come from within our neighborhood, we also welcome students from within the district and various locations around the valley as space permits.

Our high achievement scores may be credited to the fact that we house the district's gifted/talented program, however, as this population represents just 16% of our students, we share this credit with ALL of our students and teachers. It is due to their perseverance and hard work we have been able to reach high proficiency and growth levels. Our school celebrates the individual strengths and progress of every student. This is important as the population of our students and families vary from some of the more affluent families in Murray to approximately 30% who are economically disadvantaged. Given this contrast, we come together united in purpose and expectations, celebrating individual strengths and progress of every child. Building relationships and educating the whole child is a vital part of McMillan's beliefs.
