At Elodia R. Chapa Elementary, the campus vision is to provide all students with educational opportunities that support excellence in academic achievement. The staff is dedicated to creating a safe and nurturing school environment where every child participates in experiences that promotes success in their social, emotional, and academic growth. The goal for Chapa Elementary is to provide students with a rich and diverse culture of learning so they can become worthy and contributing members of our society.

Elodia R. Chapa Elementary is nestled in a rural community approximately 12 miles from the Mexican border. The campus was established in 1993 as part of La Joya Independent School District Through the years, the staff has worked diligently with its parents and community members to ensure students develop the skills necessary to overcome all academic challenges. At Chapa Elementary, the school's philosophy "United-One Vision, One Goal, One Team" did essentially become a true and successful reality.

In its journey to attain academic excellence, Chapa Elementary consistently credits collaboration as a key element that profoundly impacted the school's success. The building of staff relationships was addressed through specifically designed team-building activities evident throughout the year. Nurturing positive relationships among all stakeholders was truly essential as the campus continued its efforts to excel in its academic performance. The building of teacher knowledge and implementation of effective best practices were also vital to the school's success. Teachers' lessons were consistently designed at a high level of rigor to systematically challenge students' abilities in efforts to close the gap. Emphasis on practices, such as professional learning communities, data analysis, progress monitoring, differentiation of student-centered instruction, along with integration of technology were essential to help close the achievement gap.

The staff at Chapa Elementary continues its efforts to ensure every student is valued, supported, and equipped with the necessary skills to be college and career ready. Today, the accolades show that Elodia R. Chapa Elementary has risen above all academic expectations. The community stands proud of the school's academic achievements.
