J.C. Martin Jr. Elementary School is an elementary school located in the South Texas City of Laredo. Through the hard work of the teachers, parents, and community, the students have overcome many obstacles and have garnered an excellent academic status. The students from JCMES have not only excelled in academics, they've become all-star players in various sports teams, participated in food drives, and donated to various collections for the less fortunate or cancer research. The whole child is educated including fostering an increase in mental health awareness and a sense of community. Despite all the challenges faced by the students, they have created a culture of kindness and helping others.

As a former JCMES principal, said, "We are part of a professional learning community where we foster our students' ability to become problem solvers, critical thinkers, and decision makers." Through trailblazing online programs that target individual needs, students have mastered various concepts from math to phonemic awareness. Filled with anchor charts and every kind of manipulative or new cutting edge game to grab the students' attention, classrooms are tailored to fit the students' needs. Students learn to think critically and go above what is expected.

JCMES faculty members teach with passion and ensure every student is learning and gaining insight. Teachers create classroom environments which excite the students and motivate them. If you roam the halls, you might hear, a second grade teacher reminding her students, "Hey Coach! Go for the Gold!" JCMES has received an A rating.
