Emma Vera Elementary believes that all students can learn given the opportunity. Opportunities are provided by guiding students to explore the full range of their potential to become self-directed, lifelong learners, and productive citizens in society. The success at Emma Vera Elementary derives from the positive school environment and personalized high quality instruction provided by qualified teachers. Academic achievement in Emma Vera Elementary is due to the emphasizes on having high expectations for all students. Campus initiatives that contribute to our achievement are the use of technology, such as robotics, eBooks, and stimulation models. All pre-kindergarten and kindergarten classrooms are provided with Hatch Pads and iPads. Chromebooks are also available for classrooms in the other grade levels. All classrooms are equipped with smartboards, document cameras, and computers. Students attend the computer lab daily for 35 minutes. All content areas have digital resources available to enhance instruction that are smart board compatible. These resources allow students to actively engage with the content being covered. Students have the opportunity to create projects using technology; they can also conduct research online. As part of the campus initiative, monthly projects are assigned to all grade levels where students practice their communication and research skills. These projects are a great way to promote student creativity. Providing students with different opportunities for learning has proven to increase their chance for success.
