River Oaks Baptist School is a private, Christian, co-educational day school for students in preschool, lower school, and middle school. Founded as a mission of a small Baptist church in the heart of Houston, ROBS' Christian identity is a cornerstone of its academic philosophy. ROBS melds ambitious academics with robust character and spiritual development. Now, more than 65 years after its inception, the two-part mission remains a steady compass.
Our program is purposefully designed around how kids learn best. Much like the growth mindset we promote among our learners, we are continuously enhancing our research-based curriculum with modern advances in brain science, social emotional learning, differentiated instruction, and educational psychology. As a result, kids at ROBS love learning.
Whether it's in the maker space where sixth graders program robots or the campus garden where preschoolers tend to the herbs and vegetables that source our cafeteria and seventh graders measure soil nutrients...or Chiba City, Japan where our student ambassadors represent ROBS as the only host school for an exchange program between our cities...or the 2019 state Quiz Bowl finals where our sixth graders defended their first place title...or weekly chapel where students reflect on how to be the example of Christ's love to the world...joy-filled learning experiences abound at ROBS. Our graduates are prepared to meet life's challenges and lead tomorrow's world. When kids love learning, their success is inevitable.
