McFadden School of Excellence is a K-5 academic magnet school in Murfreesboro, Tennessee. The vision to prepare students for future academic success starts with a belief in giving excellent effort and embracing challenges that sometimes leads to failure. Principal Dr. Clark Blair reminds everyone often that failure is just the beginning of the road to success.
Teachers and students at McFadden strive to find ways to learn in all aspects of the school day. Learning may occur in the school garden, when utilizing a variety of technology, sitting in cafeteria chat groups, participating in elective classes, or when they are out in the community. Learning never stops and students at McFadden enjoy the rigor and high expectations associated with our school. McFadden takes pride in the variety of experiences that students receive during their elementary years, including Jr. Beta Club, Chess, 4-H Camp, Land Between the Lakes, and Chorus. We offer special instructional days, like Football Friday, Reading in the Schools Day, International Day, and Career Week. Through a focused partnership between staff, students, and parents, McFadden feels that it is truly a school of Excellence.
