Our Mariners believe Lake Life is BEST at LMES!

Our Mariners believe "Lake Life is BEST at LMES!"

Lake Murray Elementary School (LMES) is located in the close knit community of Lexington, SC. LMES has experienced a lot of growth and change since it opened in 1999. The one constant truth, which has aided the campus in its continued success, is the school's culture. Our core belief is that we are here to positively impact the children who grace our halls each day. Having their best interest in mind permeates every decision made, every thoughtful word spoken, and every relationship formed. In order to achieve the standards for college and career readiness, our instructional methods center around collaborative practice and the workshop model. We utilize a variety of data to ensure progress is being made as teachers rely on small group instruction, individual conferences, and goal setting to give the students the tools for academic progress.

It is our long term goal for every child to have a mentor. We have sought support from community members, parents, and partnered with our neighborhood high school to provide the students with another caring adult to aid in navigating their lives confidently. In addition, our strong partnership with the PTA has resulted in more access to books and technology for each child. As a staff, we embrace the concept of excellence as being extremely good and giving our personal best, rather than the idea of perfection. With the mindset of growth, continuous improvement, and a trusted reliance on each other our staff embodies the slogan "Lake Life is Best at LMES!"
