Positive relationships and collaboration are the keys to the success of West Vincent Elementary School, which is located in rural Chester Springs, Pennsylvania. The community of Chester Springs is steeped in a history that has always valued education as a priority.
At West Vincent, we utilize a multi-level approach to nurture the social-emotional well-being of students. Through classroom lessons and community involvement, we strive to connect all areas of a child's life to support their social-emotional development.
The very idea of connectedness stems from the belief by our students that the adults in the school care for the children as individuals and as learners. One of our core beliefs is that students are more likely to succeed when they feel connected to the school in multiple ways. Another standing guideline for our school and district is that we unequivocally state that it is our responsibility to provide students with a safe environment in which they can develop academically, emotionally, socially, and have the ability to create positive relationships.
We have a vibrant atmosphere with a positive climate and culture that connects our students to the adults in the school and our community at large. Our students are prepared to be productive citizens, have the interpersonal skills to form and maintain relationships with others, and have the intestinal fortitude to fight through any adverse situation. These attributes are the "West Vincent way" and a huge reason why the Owen J. Roberts School District is a special place for teaching and learning.
