Jefferson Elementary believes in the power of kindness.

Jefferson Elementary believes in the power of kindness.

Jefferson Elementary, situated in the mountains of northeastern Pennsylvania, is one of three elementary schools in the North Pocono School District. Our rural school serves approximately 280 students from diverse economic backgrounds. A commitment to academic excellence and character building are at the heart of what makes Jefferson Elementary so special. Daily intervention periods, tailored to the needs of each child, have had a tremendous impact on student growth and teacher excellence. Jefferson Elementary is often referred to as the happiest place to learn and grow and has been recognized as a Title I Distinguished school twice in the last 10 years.

The team at Jefferson Elementary believes in each child's innate ability to learn and achieve. Our focus on kindness celebrates the power of every child to impact the world around them in small, positive actions that send a ripple of compassion and community through our school. Families feel connected and welcome at Jefferson Elementary. We offer every family many opportunities to connect with our school, participate in activities, and contribute to our success in ways that work for them. A vibrant and impactful PTA, a student running club, family math and reading nights, holiday concerts, Grandparent's Breakfast, a yearly art show, and more empower families to celebrate with and contribute to our school. Knowing that our doors are open to families and that their children are treated with empathy and encouraged to reach high expectations generates community pride. Partnerships with our local municipalities, volunteer fire departments, and businesses all add to the feeling of teamwork. Jefferson Elementary and everyone in the North Pocono School District refer to that feeling as being North Pocono Proud.
