Early College Academy (ECA), a nationally recognized high school since 2008, positions students ahead of the curve in an increasingly complicated world by developing critical thinking, communication, collaboration, reasoning, and problem-solving skills. We address the whole student's development - academic focus, social-emotional needs, and well-being. We prepare students to survive in the global, competitive 21st century workforce by focusing them on career progression through long-range educational and career planning. We foster academic focus. We work hard to provide safe, supportive learning communities that empower students to become problem-solvers, engaged citizens, and compassionate people who own their future. Our school culture encourages parent participation in their child's education. We have a highly efficient, collaborative, and organized Parent Organization that supports site-level programs and responds to essential needs.

ECA's quality staff share decision-making through distributed leadership that values collaboration and diversity of opinion. We incorporate soft skills acquisition into our lesson plans. We prioritize the development of rigorous, relevant career pathways so students connect to high skill/high wage careers through earn advanced industry and post-secondary credentials. All ECA stakeholders work together to create a rigorous academic culture that engages the full community. We encourage all students to embrace life-long learning and demonstrate the depth and seriousness of study that appeals to colleges and employers. ECA strives to recruit a diverse student body that reflects the district. Our central location and availability of transportation from all areas of Albuquerque makes that possible.
