Serving 529 students, Westchester honors its rich traditions, while cultivating its future. The staff are highly skilled and believe in the power of deep, meaningful relationships with their students. Multi-tiered instructional supports are ongoing and personalized when they are based on a collaborative analyses of each student's performance. For the past 11 years, Westchester has been recognized for our implementation of the school-wide Behavior Support program. This system has provided the framework for a strong social-emotional curriculum that embraces our differences, utilizes growth mindset principles, and incorporates yoga.
One of the unique features of Westchester, is the three acres of green space behind the building that includes a low ropes course, native plants and our very own Westchester chickens. Often you will find classes using this outdoor space because at Westchester we believe learning is not limited to just the four walls of a classroom. Family engagement is crucial to all the work at Westchester. Whether it's during intake conferences, WE Cultures Night or a PTO Meeting, we are in this journey together. In partnership with our school community, we strive to make each child's experience at Westchester full of wonder, connection, and joy.
As a previous National Blue Ribbon School recipient, Westchester Elementary continues to respond to the ever changing needs of its school community by providing high levels of academic achievement, positive behavior, and lasting partnerships with families.
