Mount Harmony Elementary School

Mount Harmony Elementary School

Mt. Harmony Elementary School (MHES) is committed to the academic and social-emotional success of all students. The school staff creates an environment for student success by embracing the school's core values of being passionate, encouraging, creative, and trustworthy. Students are held accountable and take ownership of their learning by giving their best, owning their learning, always being ready to learn, loving to learn, and striving for excellence. Students are encouraged to extend their learning by attending after-school clubs and to develop their leadership skills by becoming a school leader. Students are taught to "be kind" and "to attack the problem not the person" when addressing disagreements with fellow students. To reinforce the importance of civility and kindness, the staff wear "be kind" shirts on Wednesdays. The school staff works diligently to build engaged relationships with students, parents, and the community. The school's PTA officers and members work collaboratively with the school's staff and parents to plan and host family learning events throughout the school year. The school's STEAM and supplemental social emotional learning materials were purchased with money raised and donated by the PTA. Visitors to MHES will see smiling, encouraging, and motivating staff members who are challenging, motivating, inspiring, and delivering world-class lessons to students. In addition, they will see students who are engaged, problem solving, thinking at a higher level, learning from each other, and thinking globally. MHES is a school where students love to learn and are taught how to be safe, be kind, and get smart!
