Pinewood Elementary School - Timonium, MD

Pinewood is located in Baltimore County, Maryland in a community that historically has valued education and been faithful supporters of our school. Our faculty and staff resonate the school community's beliefs, and together this dynamic has created a positive and productive teaching and learning environment for our students. We have a very enthusiastic and committed PTA that works in collaboration with the school to provide a plethora of student and family activities and events. These academic and social experiences encourage families to become more active participants in their child's education which further promotes and fosters a sense of belonging for all stakeholders.

Our academic program is standards based and centers on the paradigm of providing rigorous, individualized, and customized, lessons and instruction to meet the needs of every student. We believe that data collection and analysis are essential components in planning and providing best first instruction. It is also a crucial factor in providing responsive interventions during each lesson to ensure that every student succeeds in every lesson, every day!

Pinewood champions many curricular and extracurricular experiences to engage our students. Intermediate students participate in a "Passport" program for Spanish language and culture, and an Exploratory Arts and Instrumental Arts program. We also sponsor twenty-two before and after school activities and clubs for students in kindergarten through fifth grade. Service to our community, empathy, and values are a strong thread that transcends all that we do and is helping to prepare our students to be sensitive and productive citizens.
