Glenarden Woods Elementary Dedicated Talented And Gifted (TAG) School is a school of choice. The students experience accelerated programs that meet their needs in all the disciplines, with a primary focus in Science, Technology, Engineering, the Arts, and Mathematics (STEAM). On any given day, our students can be found assessing the water and energy usage of the school by utilizing the interactive dashboard, using coding to support their action research, creating google slides and power points to share findings and results of their action research, and engaged with hands-on mathematics and science investigations.

Every other student at Glenarden Woods Elementary is economically disadvantaged. Our new students enter Glenarden Woods with a variety of basic skill deficits. Through early identification the first week of school, the data gleaned from the early identification, supports the creation of a three week individualized learning plans for the identified students. The skill deficits that are addressed support our students' ability to interface successfully with the accelerated TAG curriculum. Differentiated instruction is fully implemented in all disciplines that creates flexible and ability groups to challenge, reinforce, re-teach, and/or re-mediate, thus maintaining the integrity and the rigor of the TAG program.
