Patrick Taylor is the only school in Jefferson Parish that draws students from the entire school district, the largest district in Louisiana. This makes it a unique environment for building school culture as some students live nearby while others cross the Mississippi River to attend. Despite the geographical differences of the students, the school strives to create an atmosphere where all students feel at home and have the opportunity to become successful.

The key to achieving our goals has been the relationships built between faculty, staff, students, and parents. Communication is fundamental to building relationships, and Echo, the school learning platform, provides the teachers a medium for delivery of resources and materials for instruction. What makes Echo different from other learning platforms is that students are assessed on five different learning outcomes focused on 21st century skills, giving a full picture of student's growth. This platform can also be accessed by parents to monitor their child's progress. Academics are critical to the school's program, but the school is committed to providing many cultural, athletic, and extra-curricular activities to allow a student to grow in many ways. Our student-led organizations give the students many opportunities for leadership and building relationships on campus and throughout the community. Events are scheduled throughout the year during the school day and in the evening to allow parents to visit the school and for students to show off their accomplishments. We believe Patrick Taylor provides a well-rounded program that prepares our students for college and career success.
