Ferdinand Elementary School is home to approximately 280 students in preschool through fourth grade. Nestled in the small German community of Ferdinand, Indiana, the school is known in the region for its great academic success. Ferdinand Elementary has been designated an Indiana Four-Star School since the inception of the program in 1989. This recognition is a direct reflection of the hard work the students, families, and faculty/staff members poor into the education of the whole child. Among the top performers in the State of Indiana ISTEP+ and ILEARN standardized assessments, Ferdinand Elementary prides itself on this success, though it is not a full reflection of the excellence that abounds. The school has been rated an "A" school by the State of Indiana for many years, and was also designated a National Blue Ribbon School in 2012.
Teachers at Ferdinand Elementary remain on the cutting edge of education, as they place a clear focus on being lifelong learners. Change, though sometimes difficult, knows no limits when it comes to the improved or modified instruction offered for students of all levels. Through guided reading groups, small group math instruction, and technology integration, teachers are able to reach all students at their level and guide them in growth and success throughout their years at Ferdinand Elementary School.
