Lincoln Trail Elementary is a rural school located in the North Spencer County School Corporation and serves approximately 400 students in grades preschool-6. There are many opportunities for students to be involved at Lincoln Trail. In addition to the core academic subjects, the school also offers Choir, Band, Lego Robotics, Vex Robotics, Art Club, Student Council, Math Bowl, and Academic Bowl. The school employs fully licensed art, music, and physical education teachers. In addition to these three classes, students also receive instruction in the appropriate use of technology.
Parental involvement is very high at Lincoln Trail. The school has an active PTO, that provides lots of services for the staff and students. Teachers use a school-wide communication platform called "Bloomz" to communicate with parents. Messages can be posted and sent to individuals, to the whole classroom, or event to the entire school community. In addition, you can find Lincoln Trail Elementary on both Facebook and Twitter. A digital newsletter is emailed out to families once a week. Technology is integrated throughout the school day. Lincoln Trail is a Google Apps for Education school, which means all students are issued google accounts. Google Classroom is the dedicated platform for teachers to use to deliver content. All students in grades 2-6 are 1:1 with chromebooks, while students in grades KDG & 1 have ipads. All classrooms have document cameras, smartboards, and interactive touch displays.
