Ivy Hall Elementary School is a unique school located in Buffalo Grove, Illinois. Part of what sets Ivy Hall apart is the highly successful professional learning community. The collaboration around professional learning allows Ivy Hall to function at high levels. The investment in research-based, job-embedded professional development affords the opportunity to identify individual learning needs, formulate targeted plans, and reflect on the outcomes of those plans to ensure constant improvement. Student outcomes are measured via a focus on data and the staff's ability to collaborate around what is learned from the data.
Several years ago, as a result of a commitment to the success of all our students, District 96 sought the establishment and maintenance of its own special education cooperative. Ivy Hall Elementary School is an integral part of the District 96 special education programming. As a result, all students really means ALL STUDENTS at Ivy Hall. Special education students are not serviced at county facilities, but rather at our own. Ivy Hall authentically implements a least restrictive environment for all students.
A few other distinguishing factors regarding Ivy Hall include: student access to technology, modern facilities, target-aligned individualized learning, highly trained teachers, researched-based practices, social and emotional learning, and the commitment to include all of our students. The sincere focus on learning is what motivates and sustains the work that is done at Ivy Hall every day. What has been built and maintained at Ivy Hall Elementary School is truly amazing.
