Kingsley Elementary School - Naperville, IL

Kingsley students celebrate their true colors!

Kingsley students celebrate their true colors!

Kingsley's commitment to learning is reverberated each day through the school-wide chant that concludes the morning announcements, "Good Better Best, Never Let It Rest, Until Your Good Gets Better and Your Better Gets Best!" This mantra has created an all-in culture for learning among staff, students and community members. Students of all abilities, various nationalities, and diverse economic backgrounds engage harmoniously in a shared vision for learning and success. One practice that has been especially valuable for academic achievement has been our focus on improving instruction. Our staff has engaged in high levels of professional learning in order to expand the effectiveness of Tier 1 instruction in the areas of reading and mathematics. In addition to the focus on Tier 1 instruction, another area of professional learning has been dedicated to creating effective co-teaching partnerships. We are proud of the assessment results that demonstrate an increase in student achievement, which can be attributed to the implementation of our co-teaching models and our focus on core instruction at all grade levels.

Involvement of all stakeholders is one of the most effective strategies for building connectedness and improving student learning. Kingsley has an important parent organization that facilitates a cooperative partnership among our students, parents/guardians, district staff, and administration to support and enhance the school experience for each student. Our Home & School Association partners parents with teachers, administration, and with each other, to create a Kingsley family climate. The end result is that stakeholders want to be involved, engaged, and partners in each child's educational journey.
